1. Kendall: Amanda! I called dibs on the Portobello mushrooms.

解析:
dibs: n. the right to have or choose something
备注:常用于口语中,一般与介词''on''连用。
例:
Freshmen have first dibs on dormitory rooms.(一年级新生有权先选宿舍。)
The farm always give first dibs on its vegetables to local families.(农场一直是把蔬菜优先卖给当地居民。)
We stood in line for hours to get dibs on the best seats in the theater.(我们在剧场门口排了几个小时队,就是为了买到位子最好的票。)
''Dibs on the front seat!''(前排座位是我的!)
1. Lily: Yeah, well, since you asked, a family of mayonnaise-guzzling giants is trying to suck me into their suburban nightmare.(一家子痴迷蛋黄酱的巨人,要把我拖进他们的乡村惊魂夜。)

suck: v. to cause someone to become involved or interested in something
备注:一般与介词''in''或''into''连用。
例:
Their lifestyle seemed exciting, and I admit it really sucked me in.(他们的生活方式让人感到兴奋,我承认这对我很有吸引力。)

She's worried about embarrassing herself in front of such a large audience.(她很怕在这么多观众面前出丑。)
I would never do anything to embarrass my family.(我永远不会做使家族蒙羞的事。)

''fit''表示“融入”的意思时,通常和介词''in''连用。
例:
It's a good school, but I feel like I just don't fit here.(这是所好学校,但我觉得我就是不能融入。)
No matter how hard she tried, she just didn't fit in.(不管她怎么努力,她就是无法融入。)
He fit right in at school.(他在学校融入得很好。)
The chair fit in well with the rest of the office.(这张凳子和办公室里的其他东西很搭。)
6. Lily: Gosh, I hope you're the father. Just a little joke to lighten up the mood.

例:

=He wanted to make up for neglecting his children by spending more time with them.
(备注:''make up for something''也是“弥补”的意思。)

lighten up: to become more relax and informal放松
例:
He really needs to lighten up and relax a little.(他真的要放松放松了。)
Lighten up a bit and enjoy yourself!(放松点,好好玩!)
7. Ted: In the fight against cancer, I'm on the side of cancer.

解析:
on the side of: to support
You are both my friends, so I don't want to choose/pick/take sides.(你们俩都是我的朋友,我不想偏帮任何一方。)
Are you on my side or his?(你帮他还是帮我?)
Whose side are you on, anyway?(你到底帮哪一边?!)
